Madrid Camino Day 34 – Negreira to O Logrono

Thu, Jun 8, 2017

A strenuous 37 kilometres today. It was uphill and downhill all day. Walked through more eucalyptus forests, along a few busy roads and through more lovely Galician farm towns. The Camino Finisterre is outstandingly beautiful and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering a walk along The Way.

Typical Galician horreo

For the very first time on this entire journey, I had a really hard time getting myself motivated this morning and I think it’s because I’m getting so close to the end of my journey.

Tantalizing whiffs of the ocean on the wind

Tomorrow marks my final walking day – 30 kilometres to the coast. I ended up walking with a diverse group of young folks today and the company was delightful. It really helped the time and the distance pass. Unusual for me, I joined them all for a big dinner at the end of the day that ended up feeling quite celebratory. I am looking forward to tomorrow and my first glimpse of the sea.
